In January of 2016, I befriended an Uber driver named Ray. At the time, he expressed interest in acting so we exchanged contact information and talked about collaborating. A few months later, I reached out to him to see if he would be interested in being a subject for an intimate portraiture series. We met at his apartment where he and his mother live, reintroduced ourselves, and truly got to know each other. It quickly became apparent that we didn't share the same views on almost anything, but we still got along as friends. This ongoing series observes the humility of new friendships and lends a sort of cinéma vérité view of the lives of near strangers.
